The 16th Annual Art Fair and Ryan Nyland Toy Drive was a smashing success. The Art Fair showcased three pieces of artwork per student, displayed across the walls of Fellowship Hall, as well as a sculpture garden displaying class group projects. As always, the creativity of our students was amazing, and it was so nice to see the parent’s reactions to their children’s artwork.
Our Ryan Nyland Toy Drive is one way that we demonstrate our commitment to teaching our young children the joy of caring and sharing with others that Christ calls us to. To support the Toy Drive, our children and their families were asked to donate a new toy suitable for hospitalized preschoolers the morning of the Art Fair. The children were excited about this project because they quickly grasped the concept, as they all have experienced not feeling well at some point. They can relate to how getting a new toy would brighten their day. The Nyland family will deliver close to three hundred toys to Lurie Children’s Hospital on behalf of the Preschool. We appreciate everyone’s participation and generosity.
Speaking of generosity, I want to thank our Parent Board, the families of the preschool, and the members of First Pres again for the funds that were raised at our Fall Fundraiser. The funds have allowed the preschool to sponsor an Animal Adaptation program, put on by Kohl’s Museum, at the preschool. We will be taking the children’s classes through it across several dates. Our Voyager and Odyssey classes were the first to experience the program. In April, our other two classes, Explorer and Discovery, will have their opportunity to go through it. It is wonderful to be able to provide our students with these enriching types of educational programs, and our families make this all possible! Thank you again to our Parent Board Chair, Elyse Butler, fundraising team, Jenna Zilka, Samantha Trace, Erin Buelt, as well as our preschool families, who are amazing and we are truly blessed to have their support.
